Mr. Wolf wants to make some pancakes for breakfast, but isn't quite sure how to go about it. So off he goes to ask his neighbors Chicken Little, Wee Willy Winkle, the Gingerbread man, Little Red Riding Hood, and the Three Little Pigs for their help. When he is turned down by each of them, he decides to try it on his own. Soon he succeeds in making a huge pile of delicious pancakes. Having smelled the pancakes cooking, his neighbors decide to call on Mr. Wolf and share his meal. But Mr. Wolf gets his just "desserts"!
Understanding the Planning
What are the ELR plans and resources?
ELR stands for Early Literacy Resources.
These plans have been created with the steps of Development Matters in mind and focus on the pre-early Learning Goal skills.
The ELR plans and resources on the Literacy Shed Plus website tend to focus on all Areas of Development but particularly Communication and language (with the development of vocabulary being at the centre), Physical Development (gross and fine motor skills), and some Literacy—for those children able to access simple writing activities. These plans also include ideas for enhancing the provision linked to each lesson.
These are the plans to download and use if your children are not yet at the stage of writing simple captions and sentences but need further support with verbalising sentences, utilising vocabulary and developing motor skills ready for focused mark-making.

What are the ELG plans and Resources?
The ELGs (Early Learning Goals) are the levels of progress children are expected to have attained by the end of the EYFS. The ELG plans and resources on the Literacy Shed Plus site tend to focus on the outcomes in Communication and language, Physical Development (Fine motor skills), and Literacy.
These are the plans to download and use if the children in your group can write a simple caption or sentence with some adult support.
