It is 1829 and the young Queen Victoria, not yet aware of her destiny to take the throne, lives a privileged life but one full of rules and restrictions. Not allowed to write anything unsupervised, she steals a ledger from a farm building and secretly turns this into her own diary. Here she is able to share the happenings at Kensington Palace; the many tiresome political games that are played around her; and perhaps most importantly, how she feels about life. It is also in the pages of this diary that she recounts her most startling discovery.
