'The Show Must Go On,' a 1991 hit for Queen is the backing track for this short film which is an advert for Amazon.
In the film, we see a young ballet dancer chosen to be the 'star in the winter show.' She is happy and her family thrilled with the news. Juxtaposed with this happy news, we hear that all schools are closing due to the Covid-19 pandemic which results in the cancellation of the show for which the ballerina has been training for.
In the film, we see the ballerina, training in any space that she can - isolation is not going to stop her doing the thing that she loves. At the same time, we see the ballerina's young sister organising a roof top performance and inviting all their neighbours to watch.
This is a unit which has 5 lesson plans. As it has been designed to be used across KS2, there may be some adaptation needed for some children.
